If your business runs its day in Verizon Connect Work, there is a date to plan around. Verizon announced on 1 July 2026 that Verizon Connect Work, the app long-time customers know as Fleetmatics Work or Connect to Field, is being retired. Active service ends on 31 December 2026. Verizon is not offering a successor product, and for Australian accounts, which moved to Geotab on 1 October 2025, the replacement partners Verizon lists are for North America only. You are expected to decide where the records go.
The dates Verizon has published
| Date | What happens | Where you want to be |
|---|---|---|
| 1 July 2026 | Sunset announced and the self-service data export tool released | Export plan started |
| 31 December 2026 | Active service ends: no new jobs, clients or workflows | Running on the replacement |
| 4 January 2027 | Dashboard, job lists and client lists close, logins redirect to the export tool, the mobile app stops working | Technicians off the Verizon app |
| 28 February 2027 | Last day to start a new export | Every export started weeks earlier |
| 31 March 2027 | Last day to download finished files, then the servers are dismantled and the data purged | Archive saved and checked |
These are Verizon’s own dates, from its final deadlines page and international customer FAQ. Check them against your own account before you plan around them.
What is in the export, and what is not
- Clients, suppliers and inventory come out as CSV files. Job history comes out as CSV too, with a Job ID on every record.
- Photos, PDFs and signatures come out as monthly ZIP files. The file names carry the Job ID, which is how media gets matched back to the job it belongs to.
- There is no API. Verizon says the export tool is the only way to get data out, and nobody at Verizon or Geotab will move it to a new provider for you.
- Exports are slow. Large ones run for days to more than a week. Verizon recommends requesting data in blocks of two years or less, with no overlapping date ranges.
- Anything older than seven years is already gone. Under Verizon’s retention policy, job records unmodified for more than seven years were purged, so there is nothing before September 2019 to fetch.
- Reveal is not part of this. Vehicle tracking is a separate platform and keeps running.
Where the records go in AREESA
AREESA is WHS software built in Australia and hosted in AWS Sydney. For a Verizon Connect Work customer the fit is the job layer: the jobs, the clients they were done for, the photos and signatures taken on site, and the people doing the work.
Jobs, clients and photos come across. The AREESA team built a Fleetmatics migration tool that reads the Verizon export and loads it into your AREESA account, so job history and its photos stay findable by job and by client rather than sitting in a ZIP file. AREESA staff run the tool with you. It is not a self-serve upload, and we would rather be on the call when ten years of records move.
Work gets scheduled and assigned. A job is assigned to a person and shows up on their phone, with the forms and documents that go with it.
Forms attach to the job. Verizon Connect Work never had forms. In AREESA a pre-start, a site risk assessment, a client sign-off or any form your business already uses is rebuilt by the AREESA team and attached to the job it belongs to. That is the part Verizon customers notice first, because it is the part they never had. The WHS forms software page shows how it works.
AREESA does not do invoicing today. If Verizon was producing your invoices, keep your accounting package for that or choose one. Two things are worth knowing before you rule anything out. A form built for your business can act as the invoice record on the job, so the detail the invoice needs is captured on site and attached to the work it came from. And where a business needs invoicing itself, the AREESA team builds custom work for customers who need it, scoped and priced as its own project, which is how the Fleetmatics migration tool came about. We would rather say that now than at the end of a demo.
How a plumbing business did it
A migration the AREESA team ran in 2026. The business is not named.
A South Australian plumbing business ran every job in Fleetmatics Work: the client, the job, the photos taken on site. When they decided to leave, they exported the lot. The AREESA team built the migration tool to load those CSV files into AREESA, so their job history and photos came across linked to the jobs and clients they belong to. The forms they had never been able to run in Verizon now attach to each job. The tool built for them is the one we run for any Verizon customer now.
A plan for the weeks before 31 December
- Start the export now. Blocks of two years or less, oldest first. Save the CSV files and the monthly ZIP files somewhere that is backed up.
- Check what came out. Open the client list and the job history, and confirm the photo file names carry Job IDs you can match.
- Decide what comes across live and what sits in an archive. Most businesses want recent jobs live and older ones kept.
- Bring a sample of the export to a demo. We will tell you what the migration tool loads and what it does not before you commit to anything.
- Run both for a few weeks. Have the crew on AREESA before Verizon stops, not the week it stops.
- Keep your own copy of the export. After 31 March 2027 nothing can be recovered from Verizon.
Why AREESA
Verizon Connect Work is closing and Verizon is not replacing it. AREESA takes the part of Verizon Connect Work that mattered on site, the job and everything recorded against it, and adds what a safety system needs around it: forms, inductions, licences and plant records in the same place. The migration is run with you by the AREESA team, and the data stays in Australia.
